things you think about when you sit in a long car ride.
bonds strengthen when we see each other everyday and work and laugh and lose and win together.
bonds weaken when we don't.
seasons come and go.
you can only keep those moments of your life and live them for that long.
when quantity times truly turn quality.
when chances become thinner.
lesser.
distance grows.
but it's what you do in those thin and few and quality times together, that becomes what you start to value.
your attitude towards them turns loving.
and you're just happy and content having them around.
you start to complain less
and argue less
knowing that you only have that much time.
dinner round a dining room table with mum's home cook food.
warmth of a cozy weekday evening with your parents.
lying in bed and talking till late night with your sister because you can't sleep.
nervousness shared with friends before a presentation,
and the comfort that always comes with it. that familiar smile of reassurance.
working and sweating together, and what comes out of it is worth all the effort.
even though you argued and got hurt in the process.
those quantity times that you used to spend.
suddenly it quantifies so little.
so what's left of it is the quality.
and the value that it carries,
no matter how small or how short,
it means something now.
are you being appreciative enough today?
